A video by Xue Wen from HNX. In the age of mass production and mass media, what we wear largely depends on what we see. This work illustrates the relationship between clothing and ourselves in the context of present society, and underlying confusion in our self-consciosness.
Narcissus by HNX
The project illustrates the death of the Greek mythological character Narcissus. The human body sculpture reflects our own vision and aesthetic of perfection which integrates with the endearment of digital appearance - illumination and transparency. The perfection of this virtual human vessel is disrupted and enhanced by nature through hundreds of flowers blooming from the head and creeping along the body.
Noises are generally defined as undesired information and a failure in the communication process. This project reveals the transformation from the unwanted to the wanted, by using colour noises as the essential medium in order to assemble an informative composition. The arrangement comprises of noise sound waves that are converted into tridimensional form and Its top surface becomes a canvas that a piece of message can be projected on.

Identity crisis is a common psychological phenomenon during adolescence. It is a self-construction process by continuously questioning one’s self who I am, what is my pursue. Adults would also experience this mental shift when they encounter a challenge to the sense of themselves. This project is to address identity crisis within a sci-fi context. After a series of missions, the time traveller is stuck in a dark space. The external emptiness drives him to start investigating his inner world.
